Brand Highlight: Pistol And Paris
Hey folks! Welcome to a very special edition of the Circa 1818 blog. While normally we highlight different strains or particular products that we have tried and love, this week we’re gonna be shaking things up with our very first “Brand Highlight”, where I’m going to dish the gossip (or serve the tea as the kids say) about some of our favorite brands so that you can get to know more about the people making the weed you can find in dispensaries across Canada. I’m super excited because we’re starting off strong with a brand that arose out of the BC market to become one of our absolute favourite cannabis companies owing to the high quality, flavourful sticky-icky they produce: Pistol and Paris.
Origin Story
Pistol and Paris were founded in 2021 by Dylan King (alongside his brother Dustin and stepbrother Lance), a cannabis entrepreneur and visionary who had deep roots in the cannabis community out in BC. They are classic old school style growers who use time tested craft growing methods in order to produce some of the best flower that’s currently available on the regulated market. These growing methods have been carried over from the legacy era of cannabis and is a good indicator that the grower knows what they’re doing. From these humble beginnings, they’ve grown their company into a brand that we’re proud to carry.
Craft to Consumer
Pistol and Paris, like all good growers, know that it’s not as simple as planting some seeds and hoping for the best. Their grow practices ensure that every plant is closely monitored by a master grower so that an experienced eye can catch any of the many things that can go sideways when growing electric lettuce. Then when it’s ready to go, it’s hang dried, hand trimmed and then cold cured in order to maintain terpene integrity and potency.
These time intensive craft growing methods result in some of the most distinct and dank weed being churned out in Canada these days. Here at Circa 1818 we first became wise to the quality of their flower by trying out their Orange-Tingz pre-rolls. We were immediately impressed and set about making sure that their brand would become a staple of our curated selection of flower and pre rolls. Since then, they’ve put out tons of flower that has maintained the high standard set by our first experience with them.
Credit where it’s due, these guys have helped turn myself and others here into self professed weed snobs by churning out winner after winner. Which is good for me, but not so much for my friends and family who now have to listen to hour long rants about trichrome integrity and terpene percentages. What can I say? Good weed is worth a rant now and then.
As craft cannabis growers, Pistol and Paris also know that to grow weed there has to be a functioning environment, because you can’t grow weed if all the soil is poisoned and the air tastes like rust. As such they actively seek out methods to enable ecologically friendly growing practices while promoting and helping other craft growers get their start so that they too can begin their cannabis journeys while keeping their ecological footprint as tiny as possible. So, some good karma all around.
What’s on the Horizon?
In the fast-paced world of the Canadian cannabis market, one has to be ready to go with the next big thing and thankfully Pistol and Paris are ready to go. As opposed to resting on the laurels of their flower, they’ve opted to push forward by adding some exciting new products through what they’re referring to as their “Premium 2.0” line of tasty ganja. This includes (but is not limited to) a launch of solventless, sugar-free hash rosin edibles which sound amazing. On top of that, there are whispers of a big collaboration between them and another brand coming down the pipe, so keep your ears to the ground so you don’t miss out on the excitement!
That about wraps up our very first brand highlight! I want to thank the good people at Pistol and Paris for providing us with a bit of info regarding their brand and the direction the future holds for them, these are some of the folks helping to make Canadian weed the best in the world. If you want to learn more about them, check out their website at https://pistolandparis.com and take a gander at their primo bud that can be found at dispensaries across the country.
