Strain Highlight: Gorilla Glue

Hey folks! Welcome back for another blast of cannabis knowledge designed to help you
shop smarter and get higher! This week, we’re going to be going over a particular strain that
has become a favorite in recent years due to its higher-than-average potency and solid sedative
effects. So, let’s dive in and get stuck in Gorilla Glue.

The Strain

There are a few variations of this strain in circulation, but the most popular one that has
risen to the top of the pile is known as Gorilla Glue #4. You may also be familiar with it by its
alternative names: GG4 or Original Glue. This potent little primate is a combination of Chem’s
Sister and Chocolate Diesel. Like all the best children, it makes its parents proud by taking the
most distinctive, positive aspects of their respective genetics and amplifying them ten-fold. In
this instance, it gets the deep, sour odor of its genetic parents with a potency that outdoes
most strains in its class. Terpene wise, it features a ton of one of my favorite terps:
Caryophyllene, which has the scent of black pepper and cloves. It’s a great terpene for pain
relief and for relaxation. Which is what I’m all about.

I thought you were all about getting “jiggy wit’ it”?

Only on Tuesdays, Fridays and every other Sunday. Anyway, this strain carries the glue
moniker due to it’s sticky and long-lasting effects. Some people also say it makes your head feel
like its full of glue, but I’m not a fan of that visual, so we’ll go with the duration of potency as the source of its sticky name. This guy regularly tests above the 25% THC line, classifying it as a
high performer in the THC potency category. When it’s grown by a quality producer, this beauty
becomes a supercharged terp factory that starts with a cerebral high before shutting down your
desire to do anything more than simply transmogrify into a couch. Which is great for the long
winter days we’ve got coming down the pipe towards us. It’s a good strain for those looking for
a burst of creativity followed by a nice gradual segue into relaxation that you simply must
adhere to.

How many glue puns have you made in this blog post?

I’ve honestly lost count. At this stage in the regulated cannabis industry, one can find
GG4 or one of its variations in a veritable rainbow of different forms. In our little store alone we
have it in flower, some concentrates that are derived from it and some pre rolls. It’s an
incredibly popular strain and easy to grow if you’re lucky enough to get your hands on some
seeds; with a relatively quick flower time and a traditionally large yield of good sized, sticky icky
nugs.

So, next time you roll into Circa 1818 don’t monkey around, pick yourself up some
Gorilla Glue and get stuck on your new favorite strain.
